About Us
Welcome to MacArthur!
At MacArthur Elementary, we are committed to excellence! Our mission is to develop students who excel as lifelong learners both academically and socially and who develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to help them succeed at life. MacArthur is a place where all students, regardless of any external factors, are encouraged to achieve their greatest potential.
21ST CENTURY CONTINUED LEARNING CLUB
Through a grant from Youth at Heart, we offer a free 21st Century Continued Learning Club that provides homework help, free tutoring and high-interest clubs like gardening and bike club after school from 2:30-5 p.m., with a light meal included. Through the Reading Partners program, children are paired with community volunteers who work with students on a one-on-one-basis. In addition, through other partners, food baskets, backpacks, and other services are available for families in need.
POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SUPPORT SCHOOL
We focus on elevating the positive in each child as well as teaching students how to interact in a positive manner. Using rigorous curriculum along with supporting teachers to develop greater conceptual understanding and richer instruction, we provide a meaningful learning experience for all our students. We reward positive behavior and attendance with a weekly "paycheck" which can be spent on STAR store items, free dress passes, and gift cards.
Mission Statement
The Mission of MacArthur Elementary is to develop students who excel as lifelong learners, successful in both academic and social problem-solving and critical thinking.
Vision Statement
At MacArthur, we believe our students are intelligent. This belief propels the MacArthur Team on a journey to grow as educators to see our students succeed at life. Using a rigorous curriculum, breaking down hidden biases, supporting teachers in developing greater conceptual understanding, and ultimately providing richer instruction across the curricula will result in meaningful learning experiences for all our students.

Student Leadership Group
We promote and encourage our students to be leaders through our Student Leadership Group. These leaders partner with Educare to read to the babies in the Educare program, organize and run a can food drive and perform other leadership duties in the school.
